The Museum of Anthropology

The Museum of Anthropology was founded in 1949 to collect, preserve, research, and display archaeological and ethnographic material from British Columbia and the rest of the world. Today, it is Canada’s largest teaching museum and one of its most popular public museums

Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery

The Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery is one of the province’s premier showcases for contemporary art. Through exhibitions, publications, lectures and symposia, the Gallery’s programs emphasize research, teaching, and scholarship in areas ranging from B.C. art history to international contemporary art, and contemporary approaches to the practice of art history, criticism and curating.

UBC Botanical Garden 

UBC Botanical Garden was established in 1916. It curates a collection of ca. 12 000 plants representing approximately 8000 taxa from temperate regions around the world. Temperate forest plants of British Columbia, eastern North America and Asia are curated in woodland gardens, while a classic alpine garden displays the diverse flora of high-altitude regions of the world.

Nitobe Japanese Memorial Garden

Opened in 1960, the Nitobe Garden is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Inazo Nitobe, a Japanese educator, author and international diplomat whose personal goal was ‘to become a bridge across the Pacific.”
